Hunter is a Director and Senior Analyst covering the Airline sector. Prior to joining Wolfe Trahan in 2011, Hunter was a Senior Airline Analyst at Stifel Nicolaus, where he was recently voted one of Wall Street’s “Best Up And Comers” on the 2010 Institutional Investor magazine All—America Research Team, and No. 1 in Airlines for stock picking in 2010 by StarMine. Hunter was also named as one of the top five “Master Stock Pickers” in the Airline sector in the Wall Street Journal’s 2010 “Best on the Street” survey. Before initiating coverage on Airlines at Stifel Nicolaus, Hunter spent four years as an Associate Analyst covering Aerospace & Defense in Stifel Nicolaus’ Industrial Equity Research group, joining the company via Stifel’s acquisition of Legg Mason’s Capital Markets practice in 2005.
Before joining Legg Mason in 2004, Hunter worked as a consultant in IBM’s Aerospace and Defense practice in Washington D.C., and also for PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York City before embarking on his Wall Street career. Hunter received a bachelor’s degree in business management/finance from Bucknell University, and is a CFA charterholder.
