A List of Wolfe Trahan Products...

  • Superior-Quality, Honest, and Objective Research Notes. Our team averages more than two company or industry notes per day. Not only does Wolfe Trahan produce a large volume of product from the wide range of 30-plus transportation stocks that we cover and multiple macro data points that we monitor, but we pride ourselves on our hallmark - the quality and depth of each research piece.
  • Succinct But Value-Added Voice Messages. Our to-the-point daily voice blasts add insight and direct clients toward important research and events.
  • In-Depth Company and Industry Reports. We average almost one major report (60-plus pages) per month, in addition to our daily in-depth 3-15 page notes.
  • Unique, Straightforward Company Models. Our company models are proprietary and in-depth, with quarterly histories for each company averaging more than ten years. Historical models are available with annual earnings that go back even farther. Detailed balance sheet and cash flow statements linked to our income statement in addition to debt tabs and historical acquisition tabs make our models uniquely useful. With Wolfe Trahan’s models you will get more than plugged-in 10Q data - you will receive proprietary model drivers plus a lesson on a company’s history and infrastructure, noting the differences between on-going impacts and GAAP. Our working models are available to all clients upon demand.
  • Friday Weekly Freight Re-Cap. Our weekly re-cap includes proprietary industry channel checks from shippers and other industry insiders using or tracking rail, truck, and airfreight & logistics services. Further, it includes quick summaries of the prior week’s research, industry events and dates to watch for, stock and valuation changes, and diesel fuel price changes for different modes of transportation.
  • Weekly Rail Volume Notes. Each Thursday, when weekly rail volumes and service metrics are reported, we issue a timely summary, followed by a more in-depth analysis of volumes by different rail segments and railroads the next morning.
  • Wolfe Monthly Macro Watch. During the last week of each month we print a note that tracks 13 different freight data metrics covering domestic and international air, ocean, truck and rail trends. This data helps us determine the direction of inventory and the economy and is meant as a handy guide for portfolio managers, generalists, economists and analysts to help track the most recent freight data.
  • Quarterly State of the Freight Shippers’ Survey Report. Each quarter, we conduct a survey of well over 1,000 transportation managers of large and smaller companies to track their perspectives on rail, truck, and airfreight & logistics capacity, pricing, and competitive issues confronting each sub-sector. Subsequent to our survey data collection, we publish a quarterly report with commentary around 75-100 charts and tables reflecting responses to the survey.
  • iFreight Real Time Commentary. We publish our iFreight transportation update blog in real time throughout the day, tracking a wide array of tidbits from private and public carriers as well as real time industry data - from ocean and airport data to truck tonnage, ocean pricing, truck bankruptcies, grain and coal data, and inventory, prior to that data being collected in our monthly macro report.
  • Interactive doh! Models. Wolfe interactive doh! models are small, specialized excel models where you can manipulate specific scenarios and view the estimated impact on EPS. Our interactive doh! models are meant to be easily molded, much like playing with Play-Doh, and hopefully they are so easy that even Homer Simpson can use them. We keep these models seperate from our working company models (also available upon request) so clients can easily change specific, near term assumptions which aren't always fully or directly incorporated into our longer term regular models.
  • Wolfe Trahan Audio Briefs. We post several 5-10 minute audio briefs which go into greater detail on specific topics than is possible on our daily voiceblast but is not as involved as a full-length conference call. They can be listened to at your leisure, either directly through our website or by synching them to an audio playback device (such as an iPod). We provide these briefs with a short slide deck. Topics include 10,000 foot overviews of the sector for generalists, thematic changes to our transport thesis, and summaries of our monthly macro reports, among others.
  • Wolfpack Roundtable Meetings. Ed Wolfe moderates spirited quarterly roundtable lunches. Wolfpack lunches are typically attended by 15-20 clients, shippers, private transportation company managers, as well as other industry specialists in strategy, economics, equipment manufacturing, airlines, coal, and ocean shipping, etc. Instead of formal presentations, we will all participate, sharing contact information and knowledge. Questions and issues related to recent company visits as well as concerns and opportunities regarding the macro economy, micro transportation marketplace, and specific companies are addressed.
  • Company Management Marketing. We would venture to say that over the past five years, we have brought more transportation managements to more cities than our competitors combined. Not only do we bring key leaders to your office for one-on-one meetings in a timely manner, but we host insightful and to-the-point lunches and dinners where our moderation skills assist the greatest number of clients get the most out of each meeting.
